quick question on offset

I plan on getting 16x7 volk racing ce28n gunmetal rims with a 4x100 lug pattern. Is it best to get 42mm offset or 43mm offset?

I am running 42mm offset but my wheels are 17 x 7.5. They look about perfect for me and no rubbing or anything bad. Besides, 1 mm is pretty small, so I would just check with the manufacturer of the wheels.

What kind of offset would I have to get if I were to throw on a wilwood brake kit? I'm planning on 17 x 7.5 volk gt-n rims by the way.
