94 Civic Randomly Stalling then not starting

Hi,
My 94 honda civic started stalling this summer. Sometimes I can drive it for an half an hour on the freeway at 70 and nothing happens. Then other times after I have been driving for a half an hour or so, I will start losing power and it tries to stall and sometimes actually stalls. After it stalls it wont start back up again. If I let it sit for 15 minutes then it will start back up again and I can drive it.

If I let it sit in the driveway and heat it up (I have no fan installed), sometimes it will stall, and then when I try to restart it, it wont start up.

I put a blow dryer on the main relay and heated it up and I couldnt get it to not start or stall, so I think I have eliminated the main relay, (I can hear three click plus the fuel pump turning on and running) Also during the times that it wont start up, I can hear the fuel pump coming on.

I replaced the fuel pressure regulator with my brothers and it still stalled so I am assuming that is not it....

Anybody have any suggestions?
Thanks
Don

Check ignition system for spark and look for loose connections/broken wires.

Hi there,
I have a post here(89 civic LX problem) which problem sounds similar to yours. Take a look at the post and see if the symptoms listed sound familiar. No one here has responded with a plausable solution yet. When our car doesn't start there is spark and a strong odor of fuel from the exaust. As the engine is turning over it appears to be coughing every vew revolutions or so.I believe a flooding condition for what ever reason developes when the car will not start, then after the car is alowed to rest for a while the flooded condition subsides and the car then starts.

There arent any codes....I think I may have fixed it, I let it idle for 45 minutes today and it hasnt stalled yet....I pulled the ignition switch out and cleaned it, it was dirty and the connections were kind of corroded so I sanded them down and cleaned it all out....so far I think that was it, I will see if it stalls later in the week when I drive it. This was AFTER i switched my brothers fuel pump and main relay into my car and both did not fix it.

Well that totally did not fix it, it was still stalling after I cleaned the ignition switch.....BUT what did fix it was replacing the ignition control module. I just replaced it and now it does not stall anymore. so for future reference for anyone that has this problem, my car would drive for about 45 minutes and then stall and not start up for like 10 minutes.
