probably a stupid quetion.
ok i have an auto 2001 civic. i want it to be a 5speed.. now i can not for the life of me find a 2001-2005 civic in any junkyard around here. or on craigslist or in the peddler.lol or any other sales thing in tn. is there any other trans that will bolt up to the d17a2? just wondering. or am i limited to the 7thgens... thanks guys for puttin up with my stupidity.

Look here: http://www.car-part.com/ There's one in Millersville or one in Murfreesboro, both are $500. Just make sure to select the EX MT in the search engine.

You're gonna need more than just a trans to pull this off. Center console with shifter assembly, the new brake and clutch pedals and there is probably more that I can't think of.
If you got the time, money and know how then go for it. If not, buy a manual instead.
