Exclamation Engine Cranks - No spark or fuel... ideas?

So here's the story. I blew a head gasket and decided to overhaul the engine on my own so I grabbed a haynes manual and tore the engine down to the head bolts. I decided I was in over my head at that point so I had it towed to my mechanic. He had no problem changing the head gasket (though he noticed the old one didn't look bad so I might have bigger problems) and he put it back together right with no problems.

Well when it got all the way back together he tried to start it and it cranks just like it should, but it doesn't start. There's no spark and no fuel.

He checked EVERY ground and all the sensors and all that. Checked all the fuses and the distributer.

I'm pretty much out of ideas... He's going to try and get a computer reader to see if that will tell him why the heck it isn't starting but I thought I would ask on here... You guys don't have any ideas why it wouldn't be starting do you? He checked all the lines and everything is fine. It's almost like... like the immobilizer is cutting the fuel and the spark.

Idk if that's what it is, but the immobilizer light (green key) flashes for a few seconds when you turn the key just like it should then shuts off like it should so I doubt it's that.

On a side note I had a remote start installed that had to bypass the immobilizer but I called the guy that installed it and he said it doesn't touch the engine to be able to cut the fuel or anything like that.

I'm completely out of ideas so please throw out any that you might have.

Thanks!

Vince

P.S. - it's a 2005 Honda Civic EX 1.7 vTec (thought I should mention that lol)

I replaced a head gasket on a CRV once. It did not run properly after the install, and traced the problem to timing belt installation.

Did u check the fuses that control the fuel pump and ignition relays.

I really like to know the cause and how you fixed it.
