Just Bought a 95 Need Help

Ok so i just bought my first honda and im completely new to the game. I bought the car for 900 to fix up as a reliable work car because i work all over the united states. I need some recommendations on where to order parts as well as what kind of parts, i just bought it today and have not had time to thoroughly look over everything but as of now i know i need a new suspension. I believe the springs were heated to be dropped but i need to check that out when i get the wheels off. Some suggestions of brands/type would be greatly appreciated. I also need the inside door panels as well. If any of yall guys or girls could help me with all things i need to look into replacing or check out i would greatly appreciate it, the car has 185,000 miles.

Re: Just Bought a 95 Need Help

If your springs were heated then your whole suspension is probably thrashed. Get ready to spend $1000. I would replace the springs and struts as well as worn bushings. If you replace 1 bushing you need to replace all of them. Ask gearbox about where to get performance suspension parts. For used parts I would look on craigslist or ebay. For new I would look at: ebay, http://www.bkhondaparts.com/billkay/jsp/home.jsp, or http://www.rockauto.com/. I would HIGHLY recommend new parts for suspension. For door panels I would try: craigslist or http://www.car-part.com/

Re: Just Bought a 95 Need Help

If you're just looking for reliable transportation and not a tuner, you can buy standard ride springs and struts pre-assembled for a reasonable price at most parts places. As far as bushings go, well, look into it. I changed out all of the suspension bushings on my boy's '93. What a PITA. If I had to do it over, I'd replace may of the parts rather than the bushings. If you don't got OEM, you can get control arms with bushings pre-installed fairly reasonably via e-bay. This does not include the trailing arm. That one often goes south. It's a bear to replace, but not economical to buy the whole part.
