2005 Civic EX SE Radio Help
2005 Civic EX SE Radio Help
One of the main reasons I bought this civic was the radio - 6 disk in-dash CD changer/MP3 player ...
It's dead or hibernating or ...
I don't drive much - 30,000 miles in 5+ years with the car, I drive it about once every 2-3 weeks (I work across the street from where I live). So I didn't drive it for 4 weeks, when I did, the radio had nothing on the display - no clock, no "CODE" (which I've read happens when power was interrupted) nothing. The car started completely normally - no issues with the car battery.
Anyone have any ideas??? worst case I'll take it to a dealer, but don't really have the cash to lay out a couple hundred for the radio to be "reset" or something.
Thx

may need to plug and unplug the radio to reset its memory. these decks have alot of problem from previous posts here. either they break down or the cd mechanism gets stuck.

from the back there is a connector. there should be a diy here on how to remove it. or you could disconnect the battery. does the deck have a reset button anywhere on the front? some small hole or button you can press with a pen tip.

Gearbox, thanks for the advice. so far nothing has worked. battery disconnect, nada, drive for over 1 hour (from the manual), nada. display is still just blank except for backlighting assoc w car lights.
Does anyone know if it has an internal battery? the manufacturer? (seems like someone said Panasonic, but I can't find a link to them)
I'm trying to get the honda service manual now...
thanks
