wiring interior neonz... WHODUNNIT???

i want the neons to operate when the door is opened...where can i find the dome light switch wire or other wire that is only active when the door is opened?

I would say the easiest way would be to pop off the dome light and take it apart and look at the wires that run to it.....and either splice the neon wires to the dome wires right there or folow the dome wires down to somewhere closer to where your neons are...

i have wired my car the same way you are talking about, vtecnique. you can simply find the same wiring by the door frame. there is a little rubber button-like thing on each door frame. loosen that up with a phillips screwdriver and use a tester to check the positive and the negative. use that button as your ground and hook up the positive wire of the neon to a constant power source and the neon should turn off and on with the doors. sorry i dont have any pics to show you. but you should see the button-like thing right when you open your door, on the door frame. upon pushing the button you should see the dome light turn off and on, if you have the dome light setting on "door." hope this reply helps you. tip: the driver and passanger doors are independant. the two rears share the same ground. (at least on my car (2001 ex)) good luck!!!

or u can go to under the steering wheel column and find the molex that has the wires: GREEN/RED, GREEN/WHITE, tap into thos wires but remeber to use a diode to isolate them, if u need more help just say so, i had to do this when i was installing my alarm with the door triggers.

i was gonna wire them to my dome but i just decided on a switch... be sure to use a fuse when you wire that sucker.. in fact... ALWAYS use a fuse when wiring any kind of aftermarket electircal component...
