monster truck konis

Hi everybody. im new with this posting stuff so please bare with me. ive been riding on H&R sport springs for awhile and have just installed koni yellows for the rear. after placing it off the jack stands, the rear of my car now sits about 4 fingers from tire to rear fender. when originally, with just the lowering springs, it sat with no gaps what so ever. i thought it takes time to settle, but its been about 8 hours now and no difference. is this how its suppose to be? my car is now super aerodynamic!!! front is low and the back is just waving its **** in the windy sky. if anyone knows what the heck is wrong here, please reply. it would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

I read in Honda Tuning magazine (Apr/May 2002) that the rear Koni's have 2 locations to put the rear spring perch. Is this true?

thanx for the info mwwhonda. i feel a little better knowing that it should settle after awhile. as for inanimatecarbonrod, yeah there are two perch settings on the rear koni yellows. the weird thing is that the lowest perch on the konis is set nearly 2" higher than the original shock. i dont know how that would effect the drop height. thas y im a little scared that the rear of my car might stay like the monster truck that it is at the moment.

you must be lookin at things wrong.....if you set the koni perch at the lower setting it is EXACTLY the same height as the stock perch.......when i installed my koni's, i set the rear perch to the higher setting, because w/ my H&R springs i hated the way the car sat, the back always looked lower then the front, now that everything is all settled in, in the fron there is less then one finger, and out back about 2 fingers....it will look perfect IMO when i get my 17" rims

as for handeling......although it is not as smooth as stock.....it does handel quite well for a lowered car

peace

whoa....im confused now. my friend and i lined up the stock shock and the koni. the stock perch was about 2" lower than the koni lowest perch. i hope i got the right shocks. it matched the model number to the one on tornactive.com. i set mine to the lowest perch thinkin it would drop it to the lowest of its ability. its been about one day now, and no change on the height. its sitting at about 4 fingers off my 17" rims and 215size tires. i think i got some messed up shocks......i hope there is some kind of warranty if they are. thanx again mwwhonda.

that is pretty interesting.....i remember doing the same thing (lining up the shocks) and from what i recall the lowest setting (1 of 2 choices) they lined up exactly...

good luck!

try the other perch and see what happens....if you did it yourself you should be fine, if not take it back to the shop and tell them it isn;t to your satisfaction.

my friend and i are freakin retarded!!!!!!!!! we put the perch upsidedown. instead of the cup facing down, it was facing up. *duh!!!! there was so much pressure into the coils. but everything is fixed. the ride is awesome and the drop is finally even, considering that the H&R springs dumped the back making it look like i always had bodies in the trunk. well thanx for the info everyone.

Decamo has a little shameless behaviour in the past
lol, wouldn't that be pretty obvious? i thought you were exaggerating with the height. It must have been sky high!
