Changing spark plugs today and one has oil everywhere

Thank you for looking at my post. I was changing out my spark plugs today, and one of them (the one nearest the oil filler cap) had lots of oil on it. The oil covered the lower part of the boot, the spark plug, and especially the thread. The tip of the spark plug looks a bit darker than the rest.

Is this another valve gasket and spark plug seal job? Or could there be an oil problem in the cylinder?

Thank you for your time.

i had this issue quite a few times. unless ur car is smokin like a pig u dun have oil in the combustion chamber. take off ur valve cover an flip it over. on the under side where the holes r that the ignition coils come through u will c a rubber gasket for each hole. the one where ur gettin oil is cracked or worn. honda has 2 part numbers for this gasket one is like $2 an one is like $8. they r the same thing. it will stop it for a bit but mine keeps gettin oil in it so i dunno. it helps to have a seal puller to remove the old one. its a quick install that is pretty easy.

Much thanks for the response, Gold Ghost. I just ordered a complete valve cover gasket kit. Gonna change it out and update this thread in a month to see if there is any more oil leaking into the spark plug tube. I don't see any off colored smoke from the exhaust, so I think it's fine. On a side note, the new NGK spark plugs have given new life to the car. I got over 70 mph on the freeway by barely gassing the pedal. Car idles smoother and lower, too.
