8th Gen Civic Telescopic Steering Wheel Operation

How is the telescopic wheel on the 8th gens released and relocked for the telescopic movement ??

How much movement distance is available ??

Do you like it ?? Do you ever use it ??

Have not gotten to see this, I always forget to check this feature when I'm looking at Civics.

It's released by the same lever that tilts the steering wheel. I do like this feature and use it on a regular basis to gain a more comfortable driving position.

Darn me, I've had mine for two years and never realized that it telescoped!

Re: 8th Gen Civic Telescopic Steering Wheel Operation

I drove a 2010 LX yesterday for a while, The telescopic is a nice feature.

My polarized Ray-Ban's made the digital speedometer look funky unfortunatly.

How about 1 more question ??

If you set off the factory alarm by mistake... what is the procedure to silence it again ???

A while back I set off the alarm on the Civic that was on showroom floor, none of the methods I tried would stop it after it started.

Being without an alarm for 5 years it will be a common occurance for a while.

Thanks,

Thanks,
In the hondas i've experienced, you have either pressed the unlock button on the remote or turned the key in the door.

Here's another 10th gen question for you.

Do the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel light up at night ???

I hope it is not just painted on like the 7th gens, I rubbed most of the lettering off pretty quickly on my 05 using the cc

Thanks,

The steering wheel buttons do light up. If I remember right, they are blue.

Thanks, I was going to edit my info as I currently own an 8th gen.

Nice feature to have them illuminated.
