Buy new 2010 4dr civic or wait for next gen?? Or fit ??
Buy new 2010 4dr civic or wait for next gen?? Or fit ??
I have an 03 EX coupe manual right now with 62k on it and want a new car. Why? because I dont like the dated interior with ugly brown/tan, I also want an automatic and need 4 doors.
So im not sure if I want to wait till the next gen comes out its like a year away? or Grab a 2010 model or a Fit. My budget is about 19k if i stretch it and reliability is a must so my options are limited as far as other brands.
On a side note my car is in perfect condition and very well maintained, is 8k a good price? I owe 7k on it currently.

I would wait a few months for the Fit Hi-bred, I have owned 5 Civics so far and never bought one the first year of a next generation ...I waited at least one year for them to fix the bugs... just my opinion !!!

TBH I'd wait til the next gen Civic comes out next year... but that's just me.
We don't know what the next gen Civic will be like though so it is completely your choice.

wow here i thought the newer civics had a rental car interior. 7thgen is much classier. and the fit is terrible, go test drive one its about as slow or slower than a civic, gets worse gas mileage, and feels like youre in a video game.

Gearbox , When I bought my Civic I wanted the SI but couldn't stand the stitching on the seats so I settled on the leather seats on the EXL, but your right the stock seats do remind me of a rental car.

If you didnt need 4 doors I'd say check an RSX or wait for the toyota/subaru ae86 remake that will be priced at 20k for 2011

I like the interior of the new ones. I would have liked the interior of mine if it was the all black instead of tan/brown. Oh ya and everything rattles!!! It seems freaking impossible to find a 4 door SI anywhere. Whats up with that? Anyways if I cant find an Si then I may get a Mazda 3, Scion XB or Ford Fusion. All have done great in reviews and consumer reports.

Mazda hold their value pretty good... Not sure about Scion but I thought they were Toyota to they should hold their value pretty good too.. Focus sucks.

I had 2001 civic EX coupe manual and now I have 2009 SI sedan....SI interior does feel upgraded compared to 2001 EX(both black interior)....more storage room and better engine with better stereo than 2001 EX....they both have same noise and rattles(both Hondas)....
if you are on a budget, I would suggest keep the current car longer....only if you can keep the car payment at a comfortable level with a steady job....
all SI sedans are in short supply because the factory closed for the Christmas holiday and demands are high....if you want higher performance car, I would get 2010 SI sedan and not 9th gen Civic....but if you just want the automatic 4 door sedan, I would just wait a year or so

Re: Buy new 2010 4dr civic or wait for next gen?? Or fit ??
ive seriously seen maybe a handful of si civics driving around here and only one was sedan. those are even rarer than evos around here lol.
Re: Buy new 2010 4dr civic or wait for next gen?? Or fit ??
Sigh I just dont know what to do anymore. If I want an SI it looks like it will have to be used. Fusion or XB may have to be the choice. Im not super worried about the re sale as much as I am about reliability and solid feel. My roomie has an XB and weve taken numerous trips in it, moved stuff, ect and it always does great. Only downside is it wont be a new toy because im already used to it. I have 3 weeks to decide. Grandma controls the money while im in school so a payment of 300$ is what I gotta stick to. I will have 4-7k to put down.

how about keep your current car since youre in school and save the money? and 2-3 yrs old cars usually are just as good as new, just dont buy it from some ricer that goes racing every night lol
Re: Buy new 2010 4dr civic or wait for next gen?? Or fit ??
I agree with gearbox... I'd keep the car you have now. I'm biased though because I like to drive my cars until they are in the ground.
Re: Buy new 2010 4dr civic or wait for next gen?? Or fit ??
No doubt keeping what ive got is probably the smartest choice, but when I think about hitting my head on it every day "6 ft tall" and my daughter has to climb in and out of the back I rather just take the plung. 3 years ago I was to quick to buy and didnt do my research so I dont blame the car for being to small lol just my poor research.
On a side note what do you think is a good price for my car? has new tires, battery, filters, plugs, wippers, plus my add ones which prolly dont mean anything but are quality and pro installed. Still looks relatively stock, drives good and has a 100k transferable warentee, bumper to bumper.
I was thinking $8700.00 or best offer ??? Also I found a 2008 civic SI sedan used with 15k miles for $1900.00, good deal or no ??
Thanks guys
