98 civic door locks don't work -- Help!

good afternoon all, this is my first post. i just bought my first civic, used, and i was wondering why the door locks aren't working. its a 1998 civic EX 4-door. i searched here but couldn't find a problem similar to what i was experiencing. i only have one door lock switch on my drivers door. none of the door locks work, no noises when i hit the button. the fuse in the fuse panel is good, and the fuse under the hood is also good. i don't really know too much about this car yet, but i was wondering if you guys could shed some light on if this is a common problem and help direct me on what to replace. i had the door panel off yesterday, and i thought it may be the light blue door locking control module (under the mirror, light blue plastic box)? i went to the local u-pull-it and grabbed 3 of them from junk cars and none solved the problem. i am thinking it is possibly the actuator? my questions are: are there actuators in all 4 doors? would a faulty drivers door actuator cause all 4 locks not to work? what other problem could i be having that would cause all 4 locks to be non-responsive? i also have an aftermarket radio head unit. could this be contributing? i couldn't find an exact match at the junk yard, but was hoping i would get some type of movement proving the module was bad. thanks!!

I have a similar problem in my 00' Civic, except it's only the passenger door. When I was putting in some 6 1/4'' component speakers I realized the wiring was really messed up (possibly water damage?) Do you have power windows? Do those work? If not (or if they are really slow) you might have to tear off the door panel, it could be a switch or some stupid little wire that's not doing it's job.

I went to the honda stealership and walked up to one of the mechanics (I dont deal with the guys behind the desk, I dont care how many years of experience they have, they generally don't know crap, and just want to sell you a really expensive product) and apparently, there is a regulator in the door that is responsible for all of the electronics on said door. The stealership will charge you 88$ but you can probably get one on ebay for a fraction of that.

Thats exactly what I did and it works great
