I just got a 98 Civic with an aftermarket radio and a badge that says "Checkmate Auto Security" on one of the windows. From what I've been reading it seems like once the factory radio is removed, the keyless entry goes along with it.

Going back to the keyless entry thing, I've been searching everywhere for Checkmate Auto Security and cant find much on them (I think they went under?) I had the Honda dealership here try to find a model number or something but they couldnt. Any ideas on how to get a keyless remote for it?

Also if there isnt a way to do that I wouldnt mind getting the factory radio/CD player for this car if I can get the keyless working. I bought the standard keyless remote online without knowing about the aftermarket situation so I can program it if I get a radio.

Anyone have the OEM CD deck that came with the 98 Civics? If so I'd be interested in purchasing it for a reasonable price.

PS: I had the Honda dealership fix the ignition issues that the car has a recall out for and now when I drive I hear the lock motors on the doors trying to open randomly...
