Question 1997 civic ex coupe exhaust? (quality/price)

Im looking at getting a full exhaust for my ex coupe i spent hours on ebay yesterday found one that sounds good for about 125.00 but its no name.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT

Also im looking for a some wat quiet one i dont want it to be really loud and abnoxious but i want to be heard and the 15+ horse.

Would it be a mistake to go with that instead of 400.00 dollar name brand.

IMO new parts from ebay are cheap, cheesy, and junk. I can't say much about a good exhaust but I would go a little more name brand... my friend had a Tanabe and liked it, as for me my car came with a cheap ebay exhaust, that i swapped out with a used Hayame. Also you will not get 15HP

ya that was wat i was worried about. But a preformance exhaust wont give me any more preformance?? And would i be smarter to just get an exhaust from a shop then from ebay?

A performance exhaust WILL give you more performance, however the gains are minimal from just a catback, and relatively non-existent with an axleback. For horsepower gains you will want to replace your ENTIRE exhaust, including header and cat, as well as an intake. Again, the performance increase will be minimal, probably around the 7-10 hp range with everything.

The exhaust that you found on eBay is junk. I had the same thing on my 02 Maxima. You get what you pay for, but for an SOHC you don't need to drop massive amounts of money on an exhaust. Save your pennies, do an engine swap. Worry about exhaust after you get a decent motor.

Money is kinda tight and an engine swap is more than i want to get into. So besides for swapin the engine, im listening. If im not going to be able to pump much into it for horse with my block then wat should i get for a really nice low sounding (not ricey) exhaust? Ive been readding a lot of good things bout a catback magnflow for a low sound. What do u guys recommend

Oh and im getting a injen cai is this one good

Well, exhaust and ricey tones are all subjective. I hate rice, but I have a DC Sports catback on my SI, and I absolutely love how deep it is, albeit loud. I would recommend hopping on youtube and listening to different exhaust tones on there.

the Injen intake you found is definitely better than stock, however I believe that one is a short ram intake, not cold air. Cold air is going to move your air filter into the fender, to keep it away from the engine. Short ram is going to provide your car more air, so it's definitely an upgrade worth doing. On these cars, I believe that a short ram helps your bottom end more, I could be wrong on that, and feel free to correct me if I am.
