how often to run engine of not-often-used car?
I'm going out of state for a few years and leaving behind my '01 Civic at my folks' place, where it won't be used that often - maybe once every 1-2 weeks or so. Should the engine be run more often that? It's pretty up to date on maintenance and has about 37.5K on it..

every week should be fine so long as its actually driven on the road for at least 10 mins in the summer or 20 mins in winter. keep the gas low so it doesnt sit in the tank forever. just fill a few gallons each time when it gets used up. dont just run it in the garage and shut off, thats the worst thing you can do.

I've started my evo once a month in the winter, it just stays inside from december to march. I do keep a trickle charger on it though (I only have a motorcycle battery in it)

i stored my civic for 1 year first i changed the oil to royal purple then i filled the tank and added fuel stabilizer it keeps the gas from going bad and keeps moisture out. then i would run the car for 10 minutes every other week sometimes more.fuel stabilizer onley last about a year.
