changed cam plug now car is missing need help!!!!!

im a noob to the 7th gen's and i just changed the cam plug on my 01 ex, now i have a miss on the cylinder closest to the timing belt, changed the coil packs around to see if it was that but still does it, have a check engine light on. is there any way we can check the codes with out a scanner? im really stumped this car is my daily and im screwd ... some one please help

not spark plug, cam plug the one thats on the end where the distributor should go if it had one

Those two problems don't really seem related. Why did you change it in the first place? Was it leaking oil? If that is the case, I don't see any way that changing a cam seal could cause a misfire.

changed it because it was leaking, i have asked a couple of people and say i might have a torque issue with the rockers, i removed everything without setting the car to tdc which means more than likely there was some valves open, so i have to recheck when i get home today . i can only think that i have low compression in that cylinder.

well i figured out the problem. i had 110 compression on #1 and 135 on the rest figured that when i loosened everything i had to re-adjust the valve lash, now i have 150 across the board.

Oney how did you replace teh cam plug, did you just pop the old on out and place the new one in?
