Smile Clutch Pedal Skweaky Noise

2005 Honda Four Door DX 5 speed with approx. 112000km's. About 6 months ago, I started hearing a weird noise (kinda like a skeaky door hindge) comming from my clutch pedal. Very subtle at first, but now it's constant and very annoying. It sounds like it's comming from under the dash (around the clutch pedal mount). The sound is more pronounced when the clutch is depressed with the car in one of the gears, and less obvious when depressing the clutch with the car in neutral....I've got no issues with the clutch or the gears...it's just the noise.

Just wondering if it's lacking grease at the clutch pedal hindge or if it's something deeper within the bowels of the beast ...

Thanks for your help.

Re: Clutch Pedal Skweaky Noise

Hey DeX,

Found a few posts that point to a lack of grease on the clutch pedal pivot points under the dash. They also mention to lubricate the sleve through the firewall...

I'm gonna try this and see if it works...let you know...

Latter,

GoHonda

Re: Clutch Pedal Skweaky Noise

Don't use WD-40. I just solved this using a can of spray lithium-grease. Take the two panels under the steering column off - they come off easily with those twist-tab things, follow the clutch pedal up to where you see the pivot in the firewall, and give it a few blasts of the grease. The noise should be gone.
