Re: Custom Painted Stock Wheels Yesterday (Pictures!!!)
yeah those older hybrid rims never looked good to me but youve improved on it at least.
Re: Custom Painted Stock Wheels Yesterday (Pictures!!!)
thx for all the comments and compliments...
yup... this is why i stuck with them... gotta love 45mpg
yeah, i photoshopped it to see how it would look 2-tone or all black... i thought this gave them that unique look... besides, everybody is doing all black these days...
well, i've been tempted, but every story i've heard is that u lose gas mileage with the aftermarket rims, talking 6-8 mpg, unless i spent a ton on some that were just as light and small... this gives me a custom look to the ride, i saved a ton of money, and there is no sacrifice in gas mileage, which is why i got the civic hybrid in the first place.
yeah, my buddy wants me to add a yellow or red one to it, and i'll photoshop it and see how it turns out, but i'm thinking i just want to keep it simple... it's a freakin hybrid... not trying to make it look like a fast tuner by any means...
yeah, i just didn't want to take any chances... all the reviews i read said to go light on the first couple coats, so i kept with that to keep from runs and bubbles... prolly clean and add another couple clear coats before winter...
but, i'm very pleased with this costing under $30 to do it all...

Re: Custom Painted Stock Wheels Yesterday (Pictures!!!)
used 320 grit sand paper and then 400 grit... i was shocked that places like home depot only went up to 320 grit and ppl wanted me to sand all the way up to 1200 grit before and after prime, but many people did it without this step. it is meant for really chipped up wheels i suppose... this is just my work car, so i didn't care too much...

Thats looks really good, leave it the way it is. Those hybrids are pretty rare up here in Toronto I have seen maybe only 1 in the GTA had to do a double take when I saw it.
Re: Custom Painted Stock Wheels Yesterday (Pictures!!!)
thx... i would have to agree...
yeah, we have tons of them down here... i love my hybrid!
