New to this fourm and i have a new car
Hey guys im buying a 1982 Honda Civic 1300FE its my friends car and we are fixing it. it had a knock and so we pulled the motor. It had a bent rod and worn rod bearings. im just wondering what you think i should do when it comes to getting new parts...of corse im getting new bearings and a new rod but what else should i do while the motor is out. Do ur self a favor and get a chilton or haines manual. or some sort of rebuilt manual. Best 30 bucks you'll spend doing a rebuild. It gives you torque specs for everything. If you don't have a torque wrench, get one. another good 50 bucks. The cheaper the wrench the less time it will last. But if you aren't a serious mechanic, don't waste money on a 150 dollar wrench.
