Anyone know how I could split 1x10 awg to 4x14 awg wires?
Hey guys, I want to take one 10 awg wire from the battery to behind the cigarette lighter area and be able to split that wire to multiple devices. Anyone have a good way to do this? Been searching around but can not find a good way to do this. Rep will be given out whorishly.

I stripped an excessively long chunk off the end of the bigger wire. Then wrapped the smaller wires around it kind of in a line. Then just smeared tons of solder all over it. Its messy and I'm sure there is a nicer way to do it, but it has worked just fine for me. As long as the wire is plenty big enough for the amount of power you are pulling through it, it should work fine.

just buy a power distribution block..for 4guage to 8 then distribute your devices.

something like this would work:

or just buy a terminal strip with jumpers from radio shack.

I've seen distribution blocks like this at Best Buy and some other car audio shops. Stinger makes one that splits 10 gauge to 4 larger gauge.

i dont remember sorry, this was years ago....but i know i ordered it online if that helps.
what you could do is buy this: http://cgi.ebay.com/HeavyDuty-Base-A...3D40%26ps%3D48
the left hole (right), put ur 10awg wire (the power)...but cut enough of the tip out, where you can fold it in half, then stick it in the hole. it will fit.
then put the first two fuses in and Y-split the two 14awg wire in the first on the right hole (so two of ur 14awg wire goes in that hole, and yes they will fit)
then put ur last two 14awg wires in the second hole (right)
now you have another hole (the third one, on the right) for future expansion.
just an idea.....

Well finally found something i guess. Here is what I will be mounting behind my cigarette lighter. Will be nice to have extra power slots for later.
