B-20 swap

I have a 93 sedan project/daily driver. Has anyone done a B-20 swap and what problems have they come up against doing it?

the only thing i can think of is you MIGHT have to bang the frame in on the driver side to fit the alternator pulley, but i doubt it..

It's a legal issue in most states also, since the B20 is an SUV motor. Might want to check on that, or be sure you have a way to get around it for inspections.

yes its been done.

^^ this guy dunno what hes talking about lol, stay b20 and get a b16 head. poor mans k20. if you wont do a b20vtec then yes get a gsr or something.

It's only an issue if you have to BAR the vehicle. The swap itself is pretty straight forward.

thanks guys! I havent quite made my mind up on the B-20. Im also looking at the B-18. I'm looking for dependabilty aswell. I'm thinking a GSR tranny will work with the B-20. another good one to study on! lol Thats a good point about laws. I havent thought of that. GA is not too bad

pretty much everything in the B family is interchangeable. so you dont have to worry about that.the high compression b20 w/ vtec head and a type r tranny is on par with the k20a2. two of my friends have eg hatches. one with a stock k20a2 (from rsx type s), the other with b20 vtec and type r tranny. its a close race everytime. the b20 vtec w/ r tranny is roughly half the cost of a k20a2.
