Creaking sound on passanger side
Creaking sound on passanger side
Lowered 1.4 all around Eibach sportlines, Tokico struts non adjustable, front camber kit. Stock d17a1, 17 inch rims
Ok when I turn the steering wheel to the right while the vehicle is stationary I get a little bit of a creaking sound. It almost sounds like the spring on the passenger side but i'm not 100% sure.
Any ideas of what to check? Do I need to check anything with the axles or cv boots or anything?

Re: Creaking sound on passanger side
can check the boots sure, its easy. if theyre fine (prolly yes), then its either a sway bar endlink loose or not greased up enough (spray some white lithium grease), a loose tie rod, bad upper strut mount bearing (did you change the stock ones when you installed shocks?), or even ball joints. maybe even lower control arm bushings if theyre torn, or if theyre the new poly bushings.

Lots of stuff here im' not familar maybe you can give me a better idea.
the upper strut mount bearing? I don't think I did, but honestly I have no idea. I think if I get what your saying your asking if I did something in the hat as far as new bearing or replaced the hat with a new one? Could that be it? I did regrease all the bearings in the hat when i did the install. Also the sound is coming from the front passenger. I've checked teh a arms and they seem fine no tears or anything like that. Now i'm not that familiar with sway bar's and end links. Do you have a pic of what I would be looking for? If not I can try and research tonight.

Re: Creaking sound on passanger side
yeah its that washer gasket between the strut and the top mount. it cracks and can make clunk sounds when turning. look for the long bar that spans under the engine and its connected on each side to the car body with an endlink. can check the rear ones too if you want.
Re: Creaking sound on passanger side
one of my front tokico blues squeaked if i have the wheel turned
it was the nylon seal at the top of the strut...sprayed a tiny bit of lube onto the shaft of the strut and the sound dissappeared..i usually have to relube it maybe 1-2 times a year

Re: Creaking sound on passanger side
I once had an annoying creaking sound on the passenger side of the 1988 Prelude that I had prior to my Civic. I broke up with my girlfriend at the time and the noise went away....
