I installed new front struts on my 02 civic. when i am driving at speeds higher than 40mph my wheel shakes badly..it happens rarely but freaks me out. what a hell is that? My car needs alignment after new struts installed (i donno if that can be a reason) but it was happening even after i did alignment last time. What's the reason?

Wheel Bearing could be going out, or you don't have the lugs on tight. Both are easy to check.

lets not jump to conclusions here people, and dont guess either, i would say to go have an alignment done, along with a wheel balancing, if that does not do it, then have tires inspected. how exactly do u know that the left wheel shakes exactly?

I feel shaking in the front of the car when driving 40-60mph that freaks me out! It knocks while shaking (sorry for my English). Sometimes it just vibrates. I rebalanced wheels. didn't help. now im gonna do alignment( i need it anyway) and I hope it will help. I also suspect it's a worn wheel bearing. Iam gonna check it ASAP. Tires are brand new installed at Costco

i had the same problem. then i got new tires and a balance. its hardly noticable anymore, but that could just be because i have torn boots that ive put off getting replaced.
