*Oops, that's Hondata.

Re: Hondada intake manifold gasket?

hondata does not Make a Heat shield gasket for the d17. Gerry from jdm fabtech makes one that he throws in with his intake manifolds there really nice they are kinda like the hondata gasket but on steroids. But only a handfull of people have them cause I think he only throws them in if you have one of his intake manifolds. So I think the only people with them would be me, andy, justin, clint, and there is one other but I don't know his name

Re: Hondada intake manifold gasket?

the op does not have d17 i believe. just search their site? im sure they have parts listings. and those gaskets dont add more than 1-2% hp in most cases.

I've got a D16 and they do make them for this engine. I was just curious about them because I bought a new OEM gasket and accidentily tore it (doh!) so I need to replace it again. Luckily it works for now. I don't like the fact that they are made out of weak cardboard-like material. The Hondata seems very reliable.

It's supposed to be like 5% at best. If you're doing it for performance, there's no point. I just like the idea of a plastic gasket vs. one that's made out of "cardboard."

Re: Hondada intake manifold gasket?

the purpose is to dissapate heat better. It does have proven dyno gains but it is minimal.
and on the k series the gasket is metal not cardboard
