OEM is Original Equitment Mfgr, meaning buy the company that made your car- honda.
If you want to stick with NGK, you have several options- they even make plug wires. I'd stay away from iridium plugs, and platinum is a little overkill.
For wires, you basically want something that isnt going to rust, something that is sealed, and can flow the signal to the plug effectively. Many companies make wires, there really isnt one that is the best- honda is reliable, but there are aftermarket plugs out there that can do a better job- honda parts arent ALWAYS the best.

Re: Tuning My 89 Civic
easiest way to find out for sure is to plug your vin number into carfax.com and get a free report... it'll tell you, its the end all to the question "what kind of car do i have?"
Re: Tuning My 89 Civic
could be an engine swap. look on the side of the block for a stamped letters starting with D16 , D15 , B16, B18 etc. something thats starts with a D or a B most likely then you will know what motor and there should be two digits more after the 15-18 parts. that will give the the engine code then you can search wiki and it will tell you what that engine is from. its common to see older civics that have a motor from a similar civic thats a little newer even though it will still look stock in there.

i cant find it. theres alot of oil on my engine i need to change my valve gasket. i wiped sum of it off but i couldnt find it. can u post a pic of the 2 cars engines? the 1989 civic hb dx an the std?
