Injectors wont fit

how do you make 450cc injectors, or any larger injectors, fit under the OEM fuel rail? i hear of people making them fit all the time but my mechanic days they wont fit because of the throttle body sensor. i am at work and unabl to see for myself at the moment.

any help would be great

Re: Injectors wont fit

how short on room are you?
It depends on whats hitting the sensor, if its only the vent pipe on top of it, and it would otherwise fit, cut the vent pipe off, connect the hardline on the firewall to the canister on the fuel rail with a hose. That vent pipe is there for "packaging". Cut carefully though, you dont want to go through the rail itself.

You may just have to try another injector thats shorter.

Re: Injectors wont fit

It also had alot to do with what size bolts you have in the rail itself. My RSX's rubbed alittle till I played with several different bolt sizes

Re: Injectors wont fit

Just had an idea... Acura RDX's are 410cc. You need the clips from a Scion TC (i think?) and they're shorter than RSX ones. PM skipbarber... he did it.

Doesn't dezod sell modified stock injectors up to like 550cc deutchs or something like that.

I have SRT injectors. They're the red and black ones. Just put washers on the rail. They didn't have fitment issues.

Re: Injectors wont fit

i am looking for a OEM replacement like the SRT's which can be bought at a cheaper price. The RC's were 440, arent the 05-07 SRT-4's 5XX and the 04's 4XX?

can anyone help me with the sizes. what else might work? the RDX are a possible option but i want something at least 440 or bigger (the engine set up is good for 300hp)

This is what I have...

My tuner said they weren't acting like 500+cc injectors. I think they come in at like 406cc or something

It's so funny that you say that. An injector's flow rate is based on the amount of pressure it sees. Say RC engineering rates their injectors at 40 psi and they're 440cc, but Deatsch Works injectors are rated at 675cc at 35 psi. Guess which ones will flow more when they see 43 psi on a civic fuel rail....
So that may be the case, the srt injectors may be rated for higher fuel pressure and when you get them on a civic with lower pressure, you're seeing them max out quicker.

Key thing to keep in mind, flow rate is based on fuel pressure.

Actually I looked them up online and they really were a smaller CC than I had thought. However, I get your point.

Re: Injectors wont fit

i have srt 4 injectors ... go to srtforums.com ... msg a member who's gone bigger turbo or make a thread ... get them for ~100 bux shipped... order the clips from dezod for change and u have 550cc injectors that fit amazing for under 200 bux .. jus make sure u have a good engine management to tune, FIC isn't good but it works well enough, thats the lowest u should go to tune those
