Eibach Pro Kit, Lowering Coil Springs

EIBACH PRO KIT, LOWERING COIL SPRINGS, and 1" drop front and rear. How would these springs do for just a minor drop.

If im looking for a small drop as such do I need a camber kit ? What about new dampners? I want a close to stock ride. I was told some lowering Springs with a minor drop and your stock shocks and struts will give you the softest ride??

Re: Eibach Pro Kit, Lowering Coil Springs

yes you need a camber kit. there are a lot of different threads covering this topic in detail; i would definitely search for those and read through them. as for a small drop, the one inch should do it. the stock shocks will hold up for a while, but how long depends on several different factors (current condition, future driving conditions, etc).

Re: Eibach Pro Kit, Lowering Coil Springs

I have the eibach pro kit with a SPC camber kit. No matter the size of the drop you need a camber kit. I got a printout from the shop that installed mine and they did a reading before and after the camber kit. Huge difference! I had mostly negative camber readings before the camber kit was installed. With the Eibach prokit you have about a finger and a half gap between the tire and fender.

Re: Eibach Pro Kit, Lowering Coil Springs

I have the prokits with KYB AGX shocks riding on 225/40/18 nad my camber is with in spec. I dont use a camber kit and get 25-30k out of my tires. Towards the end of their life the tire will show some minor camber wear, but besides that it has been a great set up.
You SHOULD run a camber kit, but with only 1" drop its not necessary and hasnt effected my tires wear enough to warrant doing it.

what setup could I get from there for my Civic 2004

Ebachi Pro Kit and some Shocks should do the trick? But if i change the shocks it will be a more stiffer ride no?

FamilyCar What bout Koni Shocks I have option between thoes and KYB.. How is your ride quality. Im loooking for a drop not a racing car

Re: Eibach Pro Kit, Lowering Coil Springs

AS you can tell from my SN this is/was my family car. The ride is as close to stock comfort level as I have experienced. The progressive coils give good compression in the corners but stays fairly soft for normal driving. The KYB AGX shock sI have allow me to dial in the suspension feel. They are 4 way adjustable. I usually ride on #2 when the family is going to be in the car. I recently bought my wife an 08 grand cherokee though so tht is now the family car so I have stiffened up the shocks for my taste and driving style.

So with this pro-kit being its a family car what would you reccomend I have not much knowledge of the adjustable settings unless they come pre-programed and dont require a lift or major tools to make these adjustments?

Re: Eibach Pro Kit, Lowering Coil Springs

The adjustment is done with a little screw driver(provided) under the hood and in the trunk on top of the shock. They are clearly marked with numbers. The higher the number the stiffer the shock will be. Even my 5yr old could do it. No lift, no jacking up the car. Just turn the adj. screw.
Dezod shold have them for you and will probably match any price. Otherwise I bought mine locally from Dynamic Autosports in Lake Forest, Ca. (949) 334-0541

Re: Eibach Pro Kit, Lowering Coil Springs

prokit only drops 1 inch with the right shock (ie, tokicos or some other aftermarket rated for lowered car). otherwise it will be very weird with stock shocks. sagging, wrong height, all sorts of issues. and yes camber kit is needed. my settings were all in the red before they put the kit on and realigned.

Re: Eibach Pro Kit, Lowering Coil Springs

I heard anything more than 1.75" and you'll need a camber kit, but anything less and you don't.

But as always, get an alignment done no matter how much you drop you car.

Re: Eibach Pro Kit, Lowering Coil Springs

ok, maybe I should say drop you car more than 1.5" and you WILL NEED a camber kit, anything less and it's not too bad. And a little negative camber will give you better handling. Get an alignment so the toe in/out, whichever one occurs after a drop, doesn't eat your tires in a few weeks.

Re: Eibach Pro Kit, Lowering Coil Springs

I'm a newbie here, just bought eibach pro kit today..i have some questions;
1. what is a camber kit?
2. why I got 1.5" drop at rear and only 0.5" drop at the front after installing pro kit?..very confusing, the ads say it will only be 1" drop..

Re: Eibach Pro Kit, Lowering Coil Springs

I had prokit on my 05 for a yr now. I recently had to get camber kit because the left rear was wearing down pretty bad. Dont have a problem with the factory shocks. The drop use to be a lower in the back prior to the cambers being installed but it even'd out after.

Weird thing was i didnt have a problem with tire wear on the factory 15s. But when i put the 18s on they wear pretty fast. Guess it has to do with the tire width

Re: Eibach Pro Kit, Lowering Coil Springs

Camber arms that come stock on your Civic have an alligment to what the stock specs are for stock shocks/springs.. an aftermarket camber kit is adjustable, and allows your car to have proper allignment when the stock camber arm will only stay to one specification, and thus, you not being able to have a perfect allignment when you lower your car the front are merely different camber bolts instead of arms.
