Problem driving straight? (at times)
Problem driving straight? (at times)
I searched but wasnt help full.
I guess it would probably be the tires and not suspension thats why i posted this topic here.
I put on my rims and everything and now what i notice is the odd time randomly when im slowing down or accelorating or even just crusing i get a slight tug in the steering wheel to the left or too the right.
Any obvious ideas of why that maybe? I bought my rims from WheelsNext they came balanced and everything... Also when I put them on i put the lines that went around the wheel in pairs. So the two that are closest to the face of the wheel both went on together at the front and farthest back went on the back.
Now what could be wrong im guessing alignment?

wider, lower profile tires will track the road with more force, thats the pulling you feel. Its the road not the car, just learn to live with it.

My civic HB also does this, but i am getting it re-aligned asap to fix the issue, my old camry used to do the same, till it got re-aligned, now it drives str8.
Re: Problem driving straight? (at times)
roads crest and can make u pull either way, especially with directional tires, its quite a difference with performance tires, i work with tires for living, and beleive me, unless its a severe pull, in one direction, regardless of speed, or action, then its not tires or alignment, its just the road pulling u the way it wants u to go
Re: Problem driving straight? (at times)
Yea well It could be allignment but it happends odd time when im driving some times speeding up and slowing down you just feel it pull slightly either way.
I guess I could look to get realligned but would it be worth it EVERY time?

Well then what about the tires could mean Squeeky brakes? I got them Changed and before and after the front right wheel it makes a squeekingg noisee when I come to a stopp but eventually it goes away but it comes and goes. Its Brembo Blanks with Hawk HPS pads.
Any ideas??

Re: Problem driving straight? (at times)
ITs normal you'll get used to it. no need for alignment
Re: Problem driving straight? (at times)
If you didn't get an alignment when you changed your suspension, you need to get an alignment. But I've got almost the same tires as you, I have the N7000 and I feel the same thing. In my case it's the tires themselves because they're so wide and have that much more of a contact with the road. When I stop, or even when I'm on the highway, I have to hold the steering wheel tight because it pulls back.
Re: Problem driving straight? (at times)
Has to do more with Tires then Allignment i noticed where the road is really worked in and you can see the groves and if your lange changing or slowing down the road leads you into different directions.
Re: Problem driving straight? (at times)
Just like he said, the tires are grippy and they DO in fact pull you in different directions, i immediately noticed this when i changed from winter back to my summer tires, as for the brakes mine are doing the exact same thing. Heres the trick... Go to your local Canadian Tire / Princess Auto / AutoZone.. hell even Wal-Mart, pick up an aerosol can of Brake clean and a tube of Disk brake quiet. My guess is that you got moisture between your brake pad and your caliper, so pull the pads off, wipe the rotor real good, spray brake clean on the rotor.. wipe off ( make sure not to get any on the pads ). Apply brake quiet to the pad, the side not touching the rotor, reassemble and your good to go !
