car feels sluggish...help

the car feels like it is sluggish. is there anything i can do so that i can make it run somewhat smoother. and also is it normal for the gas medal to feel heavy when ur stepping on it. I used to drive a camry and the gas pedal was so smooth that i barely had to step on it.

just do a tuneup, not sure how good your maintanence is, but could be that. gas pedal is a bit firm but i like it so i can rest my foot there without having the car accelerate.
