Red face used to love my honda................

Let's see, first it died on me approaching 50 mph, engine light came on. Had it scanned, possible fuel pump, fuel filter problem. Replaced fuel pump as autoschmone said filter could not be replaced on the 2001 civic lx. Ran good drove approx. 40 miles before she acted up again. Light back on, starting to bog down again, not as bad. Had it scanned again, faulty tdc sensor, replaced this. Once again, ran good for a minute, then bad. Took off cat banged out honeycomb as it was mostly melted. Replaced top oxygen sensor and still nothing. Run like complete crap again and have done everything the codes have told me to............................Pulling out hair that I dont have??????

hmm, well yes the fuel filter can be changed, but its inside the tank so you gotta take out the pump in the back seat. it takes a while to change. could be that. any more engine codes showing up? if its bogging you may just need to clean the intake system, mainly the throttle body and IAC valve connected to it where the coolant lines feed into. then change plugs and air filter and reset the computer/do idle learn.

Re: used to love my honda................

Definitely worth a try, will have to take fuel filter back out and check it. Probably have to check with honda on the filter. I can clean the intake with intake/throttle cleaner right? And already changed plugs but probably need the air filter. Thanks again!
