AC/AC light wont turn off
i just acquried a 02 lx coupe recently and have noticed that the AC light never turns off. Well, it turns off when the fan is off. I tried listening to the motor and feeling/smelling the air, and what I found is that my AC is always on. Anyone got any advice?

The A/C compressor always cycles when you have the defroster on (all cars w/A/C are this way no matter what brand they are). You can hit the button to turn it off after you turn on the blower (fan).

Re: AC/AC light wont turn off
thx, i am so nub.
next thing is my power door lock now, lol.
When the driver door is open, the power lock wont lock the driver side. While I'm inside the car, the locks go up and down, it's fine. But when I open the door to get out and press the lock button, only the passenger side locks. On the driver side, it goes partially down.

Perform the procedure listed here for the "A/C off during defrost" and you will be able to release the compressor from running.

Re: AC/AC light wont turn off
You beat me to it. I was looking forward to answering the easy questions. hehe. Craig, you didn't post the link man.
I remember when I first got my car how these things really annoyed me. Now I just reach over submissively and pull the handle and push the lock button at the same time without even thinking.
I remember trying to do the DIY A/C turn off, but I don't remember it working for me. Of course I never bothered to listen for the A/C to click on I just know that the light never shut off.
So I suppose maybe even though the A/C is off the light stays on? I have no idea. Much like the door handle, once my windows are clear I turn the blower to the floor and shut the a/c off.

Re: AC/AC light wont turn off
defrost works a lot better with the A/C if the windows are foggy. if they're frosted, the extra strain on the motor will heat it up quicker and get you hot air faster. so either way, it's better to run the A/C for defrost/defog IMO.
