Megan Racing Sqeaky back! Help!!! Updated!
Sup guys, just got my Megan racing coil overs last night. I have it setup with 22 soft in front and 24 soft on back. The front makes no noise whatsoever but the backs makes an annoying fairly loud squeaks over every bump.
Any ideas what it might be? Do they need to settle or something? I'm not to mechanical incline so if you guys suggest something please be specific so that I can tell the mechanic. The mechanic mentioned something about tightening the springs. Does that make sense? Or do I just need lube some where?
Any help or suggest would be greatly appreciated. My old B+Gs didn't make a sound except for when my rear driver side shock blew on me and started making rattling sounds.
HALP!!!
Update:
Took it to my mechanic this morning. He sprayed some white lithium **** on around the shocks/springs area not sure exactly where. I told him where to spray though from suggestions in this post.
Noise is gone! Thanks for all the help guys/gals

Re: Megan Racing Sqeaky back! Help!!!
i have tokico blue shocks which used to squeek
the cause of the noise was the friction of the piston shaft rubbing against the seal...to make it go away, i just sprayed some lube where the shaft is...
it's probably worth a try since the fix is cheap

Or you could have burrs inside your chock tower that the coilovers are rubbing against and making a noise. Or you could have forgot to tighten all the bolts or collars correctly. Thats a very soft setting by the way, caddy vic hmm?
Re: Megan Racing Sqeaky back! Help!!!
yes, rear camber kit bushings can make squeaking noises as well, lube things in the rear one at a time, and see if they go away, when it goes away, ull find ur squeak, and post it up, we can then tell u how to alleviate it

Re: Megan Racing Sqeaky back! Help!!!
This noise you have, is it on the same side as the shock you blew out?

You can't tell which side? Listen harder and use reason. If you did something to make it blow (hit a big hole or something) it only makes sense that they are related. If not just pretend to be mechanically inclined.

on the way home, i decided to drive into a mall and drive on the speed bumps, i kinda went pretty quick on the bumps and problem solved, but leme check again on the way to work
Re: Megan Racing Sqeaky back! Help!!!
if it sounds like something is creaking its the plastic cover, my mech just cut it higher so when the spring compresses it touches or something but its ok now, =)
Re: Megan Racing Sqeaky back! Help!!!
I understand that but all I'm saying is that the new suspension (basically just a strut) doesn't have to be the cause of the noise. The strut isn't the only thing in your suspension the upper and lower control arms, the knuckle and probably 6 or 8 different bushings.

Re: Megan Racing Sqeaky back! Help!!!
have you checked the sway bar and re-torqued the two nuts on the top of the coilover behind the trunk liner?
