turbo for 02 ex
Re: turbo for 02 ex
lol uhhh.
honestly; it sounds like you have no idea what your talking about so you should hold back on the turbo kit until you learn a little bit more about what your doing to your car before something terrible can happen. and if you are gonna buy the turbo kit anyway at least give us a link or something so we can see what your gonna buy to give it the thumbs up or down.

Wow. Easy folks, give the kid a chance as he's asking a legitimate question even if there is some stuff at the end that doesn't make sense. Do I need to remind a certain someone what fuel injectors look like...?
Anyway, .50 trim is not too big, that GT28R will spool wicked fast, plus it's about the perfect size turbo for our cars. Good low-end, nice fat powerband, plus plenty of room to grow if you end up building the bottom end.
Which kit are you looking at? I don't think any of the current kits out there come stock with a GT28 potato, so it must be someone's custom setup.
All that being said, stick around a while, please read some of the turbo FAQs and browse through the Forced Induction section and we'll be happy to answer more questions.

Garrett GT2860RS (aka GT28RS) = More awesome Disco Potato
He's prolly referring to the TSI kit with the optional t28bb(i assume the t28bb= gt28r)
Re: turbo for 02 ex
@tfnaaf, no bro...gt28r is way out of the league of t28... atleast 3-4 whp difference per psi cuz the gt28r is a dual ball bearing turbo... im sure at 6 psi a gt28r wud easily produce 190-200 whp on a stock d17, and where as the t28 at 6 psi, on the same car, wud produce around 175-180 whp

Re: turbo for 02 ex
yea well thanks to all the *******s that tryin to tell me i dont know what im talking about... if ur going to reply an talk **** dont waste ur damn time.. but its the tsi exteme kit off procivic..
Re: turbo for 02 ex
good call tnaaf, but like Clint ('foos) said a little more info, TSI extreme kit, would have been more helpful in the beginning. You should be fine with the kit, but what are you using for fuel management? I can't recall if that kit comes with an RRfpr or leaves you hanging to find your own solution...

Re: turbo for 02 ex
Decent kit, but like Tony said, you should go with a different fuel system. That TSI extra injector lash-up, duct-taped on jobby will give you nothing but headaches.

Re: turbo for 02 ex
this is what there website says about fuel management:
"Comes standard with TSI's proprietary fuel system, which includes a TSI interface block with 2 additional fuel injectors and controller unit (black box). The controller unit is adjustable, displays boost pressure, and has an integrated turbo timer. The settings are all pre-programmed to work right out of the box. A good dyno tune can still yield some additional horsepower though."

And can't be tuned worth a ****, will give you a migraine, and overall sucks. At least run a piggyback (AEM F/IC or the PCS-XFC). That TSI fueling system and "black box" has been proven to be a piece of ****.
