let me start off by saying that I've never done it, nor do I have experience with sewing (other than an 8th grade home-ecomics class that I was forced to take) hehe.

I've been researching the vinyl cuz I'm doing a custom project in my car and I want to wrap it in vinyl.
there are a number of different types and qualities of vinyl.
there is this fabric store near me that sells it for as cheap as $2.96 a yard.
thatz (X yards * 72 inches <-hight)
the cheap stuff might be really good for seats, itz soft and somewhat feels like leather.
the stuff that I'm gonna end up using is around $13 a yard. (big difference)
stuff is hard as anything, and durable too.

I think that all you need to do is:

1. buy vinyl
2. make a seat style cover (put fabric inside out) and pin in place
3. take seat cover off
4. sew
5. turn seat cover back to ther proper way
6. put on seat

I hope this helps

Just buy a leather kit!

I just bought one...

Two tone white/red leather, with 2 Honda emblems embroidered on the front seats. It comes with an install kit, and cost me $700 for my sedan...

Kinda pricey, but a lot easier than trying to mess around with doing your own vinyl interior. You might be able to do it, but unless you're a natural when it comes to sewing, it wont' come out the way you want it. I would just suggest saving up for the kit...
