Brake clanking noise over bumps
Brake clanking noise over bumps
Hi Guys,
Ever since i had some new brakes installed (genuine Honda pads and rotors), I am hearing a clanking noise going over bumps. The noise goes away if i press down on the brake pedal.
I think the noise is the brake pads moving around as i mentioned when i press my foot on the brake pedal the noise stops as the pads cannot move around.
I brought it to honda and all they did was a brake service, which solved it for a day or so and then it was back, i brought it back and they re-did the service and its doing it again.
Anyone know what this could be and what i can do to fix this?? it sounds like my car is falling apart its embarrasing, any comments would be appreciated.

Re: Brake clanking noise over bumps
It's definitely not you pads moving around. I had a problem like that. It was the heat shield scraping on my rotor. It went away when i braked. In my case, I replaced my brake pad and haven't heard it since. You may need to pull it back away from the rotor.
