Okay guys, i've searched around but i really couldn't find anything similar.
I guess i should mention that i have blacked out my OEM and replaced them with different bulbs. After putting them back together, they worked fine for months, but recently, at night when i turn my headlight (lo beams) on, only the right one would turn on, but i could get the left one on by simply pressing together the bulb and the harness. I had been doing this for about a month. Then a few days ago, something gave out and now when i turn on my lows. the left low beam is really dim, almost orange, but the right is fine. Also with the lows, my hi beam bulbs are on but dim as well. Now, when i turn my highs on, the left side goes completely out and the right is normal.
blinkers are fine though...any ideas guys

Re: Headlight problem
Open the hood, locate the bulb in question, switch it with the other bulb. Same problem? If so, examine the connector the bulb connects up to- anything? If not, trace the wire back, at the connector its probably mostly fried and the bulb is only getting a few strands of the actual guts of the wire, which the current is going through. If thats not the case, look again. If its really not the case, then trace the wires back through the harness and try to find where its pinched, cut, severed, or anything out of the norm. If you run through thoes things, I think you should be able to locate your problem. You can rule it out being the wrong fuse since the other light is working fine.

Re: Headlight problem
An update on this post. i found the culprit, a fried harness. My harness was cracked i guess it somehow led to this. This leads me to my next question:
Is it too risky to put my high beams in the low beam housing for the time being until i can get a new harness (or HIDs) and leave the lows without bulbs?

Re: Headlight problem
o and just to be sure, HIDs do replace the existing low beam harness right?
c'mon guys, i have my bumper off as we speak and i could really use the input, thanks.

Re: Headlight problem
Same thing happened to me. A local speed shop had harnesses for 9006 bulbs, cut off old and wired in new. 9005s won't fit in 9006s or vise versa, disconnect lows and run highs until you wire new harness. People will hate you but it's just motavation to get it fixed faster.

Re: Headlight problem
for the mean time, i disconnected the low beam that was working, cut the bad harness and using the highs in the low beam holes. works great for the time being. i ordered a pair of new harnesses then ordering my HIDs
Re: Headlight problem
My both low beams just went today!
It's -18C (-30C with the windshield) today so I thought maybe it was the extreme cold. I brought it inside my works shop to warm up but the low beams still don't turn on ... but the hi beams do! Checked all fuses, their okay. When I removed one of the bulbs, there was some grease or something on the prongs - IS THAT SUPPOSE TO BE THERE?!?!?!
The bulb looks fine to me so I put it back in. I'd check the other one but I have to remove the power-steering housing first to access it and it's toooo cold today. I'll check the wires out for any defects but in the meantime, what do you guys think the problem might be?
Thanks for any help. Much appreciated!

Re: Headlight problem
The grease is dielectric grease and you want that on the prongs. I had this problem before and like I said a few posts back, go buy new wiring harnesses for your low beams. I put new ones in mine and have had 0 problems since. I don't know what the deal is with the factory ones but most of the time the lights cut out i'd jiggle the harnesses and the lights would turn back on, other times when they'd cut out the bulb would get burned out.
