hey guyz how do u replace?
hey guyz how do u replace?
What up what up guyz? i want to know how do u replace the air filter in the 01 civic coupe? Because 2day i went to pep boys pick up an filter (thinking this should be a 15 min install replacement) I open the hood there are two black boxes one above the motor and one to the left of the motor so i open the one above the motor and my filter doesnt fit so i thought first either the filter is wrong or this isnt the air filter.I asked for help when first buying this filter and this is the one i found. funny thing was the box to the left i couldnt open it up it was like bolted down and refuse to open so i didnt want to break it. The other box which i did manage 2 open was a real small filter attached to a black plastic ring. PLease help me out maybe with a pic too i searched for a DIY on just the air filter no luck just intake installs.
Re: hey guyz how do u replace?
yes its all one piece. the replacement filter should look exactally like the one you removed. sometimes there is a part number along the edge of the filter, you can use that to get the correct one.

Be careful you dont strip the holes in the plasic, a shop did that to my stocker air box, very lame.
Re: hey guyz how do u replace?
i actually get better gas mileage with the cold air intake than i did with the stock air box, the air has to be sucked harder cuz of all the bends in the stock air box, plus the inside of a cai has smoother surfaces, meaning less resistance
Re: hey guyz how do u replace?
well i had a AEM CAI on my last car and where i live it rains hard so i have 2 drive through basically rivers and hydro locking isnt 4 me lol but im good When i did have on though i love the sound it made and the better accleration but im good with my stock stuff i dont really want 2 hook dis whip up. Just audio and rims 4 me lol... Well Good newz stupid Bitch at pep boyz did sell me the wrong on so i did slap the new one on took maybe 5 minz at most. Thanks 4 the good looks guyz ima my cabin air filters too i heard its in the glove or behind it?
Re: hey guyz how do u replace?
yea, the cabin air is behind the glovebox, just to the right, behind a little hidden door panel that pulls off, itll have tabs, and the filters insert into the plastic frames, just dont throw them away, its pretty easy, on a 1 to 10, 10 being hardest, its about a 1, but it makes a huge difference in air quality, i recommend honda oem replacements, or buy wix, they are ur two best options

^ yupp..
Honda rips you off. $19.77 for the element at the dealership, $13.84 at majestic. Its smarter to go with a respected aftermarket company since filters are the bread and butter of their business.
Oh, and if your case cracks (assuming its the top) its $20.05 @ dealership, $14.04 @ majestic. Bottom is $30.98 @ dealer, and $21.69 @ majestic.

THANK GOD someone read my mind on the Cabin Filter, I have a gilzilion Thruway miles and the air now has a nasty dusty smell to it, I thought that filter may be tucked way in the dash so the stealership would be able to charge you for 8 thousand hours. I'm going to go buy one and swap it out.
I was looking around before I posted this one, I hate when people do like 8 posts about the same thing prior to checking to see if someone has done it.
sorry for writing a book. thanks for your help!
