my a/c went out, i don't have the money to get it fixed yet, but someone told me to remove the a/c compressor belt

can anyone show me which one it is??

ok well look at the ac compressor. its the one with the metal lines hooked up to it. look at the pully attached to it, thats the belt. ill try to get a pic

If you look down at the right side of the engine its below the power steering pump. I've circled it in yellow on this picture of my engine bay.

You will need to take power steering belt off first to get at the AC belt. Just remove the power steering pump mounting bolts and move it out of the way - no need to disconnect hoses or anything. Loosen the tensioner on the AC compressor, slip the belt off and then re-tighten the tensioner again so your compressor isn't flopping around.

Should take you about 1.5-2 hours if you've never done it before.

it's below the alternator, you cant just pull out the a/c belt because it's on the same belt with the alternator. the car wont run without it. do you know why your a/c went out?

yea.. look at the a/c pulley.. see the belt wrapped around the pulley..

thats the belt... .. jus had to do it

cut it with a razor blade and just have them install a new one when you fix it. there going to have to remove it if you need a new compressor anyway. and whats a belt 20 bucks? cut the bishh make sure its the right one tho

Damn it, I knew I was forgetting something, good call Edwin. Your only other option if you are set on disconnecting the AC at the belt is to measure and get a different size belt to just run from the alternator to the crank, taking the compressor out of the loop.

A/C compressor belt is the one inside the other belt...so if you dont want to the a/c compressor you have to buy a size 34 belt to run i think the water pump....

hey i am about to remove my a/c and have searched alot for a shorter belt just for the PS,just go to a honda dealer let them order this part nr 31110-PLA-E02 thats the belt you need.
