RS*R ExMag & Turbo
Ok guys as most of you know im trying to build a sleeper turbo 7thgen. I want to know if the 60mm piping on the ExMag will be good enouph for 300 WHP. I'm really tired of screwing around with a loud 2.5" custom exhaust system… I think 60mm is like 2.36" or something.

Re: RS*R ExMag & Turbo
idk, prolly not for that much hp. shouldnt the bigger piping be quiet with turbo anyway? more flow = less noise. alot of turbo guys say their exhaust sound is almost like stock.

well right now with RSX 2.5" mandrel bent piping and a magnaflow oval muffler its louder then I want. The muffler is straight through though.

Re: RS*R ExMag & Turbo
thats 2.25" ID piping, which will support 300 HP, the thing is the EX MAG muffler is baffled, which is not gonna help your cause. Pick up a WSII, Hyper Medallion, or Thermal.

Re: RS*R ExMag & Turbo
Which one do you think is the quietest, I had the WS2 before and the noise level was good but I diddn't like how big the canister is and how low it sits.

Re: RS*R ExMag & Turbo
Have you tried sticking a resonator in what you got?
It owuld seem to make more sense than a whole new exhaust....

Re: RS*R ExMag & Turbo
I already have an 18" long resonator. Im just not happy with this setup. Its too loud.
Re: RS*R ExMag & Turbo
i dont have a pic of my exhaust. but im running turbo with a 2.5" catles exhaust. has a resonator near the back where the stock one was and then a 3 chamber magnaflowmuffler. quiet as ****. doesnt hurt my power any that i notice.
Re: RS*R ExMag & Turbo
I would definitely not go smaller than 2.5" for that power level. This is the reason I'm still running an open downpipe and don't want to get an exhaust, lol. I don't care about the noise, I care about the power.

Re: RS*R ExMag & Turbo
Ya I would leave it loud if it wasn’t for me living in California. Cops are lame… An exhaust is the first thing they see and they will give you a hard time about it.
maybe ill look into getting a different muffler

Re: RS*R ExMag & Turbo
has anyone made a silencer for the rsr? i mean for na setup, it wouldnt hurt to just put a metal plate or something to block some flow. idk how it would secure tho, i doubt jb weld could hold it in there.

Re: RS*R ExMag & Turbo
I have the WS2 and it is basically not much louder than stock. It's all 2.5" piping from the turbo through my cat, then whatever the WS2 is. It's quiet and unobtrusive, then when my wastegate opens it drowns out everything else around me, etc. Hehe... It's really loud - but only when making over 6psi... so no one sees it coming.
