Cheaper Denso Irridium IK20 alternative?
Cheaper Denso Irridium IK20 alternative?
So I went looking around for these plugs, I got was 29$/plug to the one place I went. Is there a site or anything I can buy them cheaper? Or even just a cheaper alternative plug all together?

i sure hope not. ngk copper v-power, $2 a plug and just as good if not better. you just have to change them every couple years. ive had mine over a year and they are still running strong. ill prolly change em when i get time.

I run IK20 from Dezod, since 2005.
Before, I had just standard replacement copper plug by Champion.
IMO, plugs, if good quality, should not be a concern.
As long as your ignition can still generate proper spark power, any good plug will do the job well.
I think all these commercials abot this ar that plugs, are well....just commercials.
It is like "dont drink Coke, drink Pepsi" thing. Not much difference if any.

true, all the advertising doesnt mean much. ive heard that ngk seems to run better in imports. but if you can feel a dif between types like copper/plats/iridium, somethings wrong with your car. i just changed my copper plugs with new ones today after 1.5 yrs and could not tell any difference. usually when people put iridium in, the old plugs have been used for many years and the "gain" is just from putting a new plug in.

more or less, its how long they last. But copper plugs have a huge advantage for boosters that they're gapable, unlike iridium and platinum plugs with uber brittle delicate electrodes.

Re: Cheaper Denso Irridium IK20 alternative?
yup thats pretty much it. alot of stock cars use plats cause it takes 4hrs to change the plugs. on our cars, hardly takes any time at all. iridium makes me nervous, that electrode is way too small. and copper is a better conductor, not that it matters but still. and i think its good to change plugs often, alot of things happen that can degrade their performance like bad gas and too much idle. you could prolly run a plat for 100k miles, but youll be losing out of performance.

too much open loop idle, idling in general doesnt hurt plugs.
