D17 evolution occuring....witness it 1st hand!
Well, we are considering taking our new design to even another level to offer EVEN more piece of mind in our refined engineering. We are pondering making a cast version of our exisiting manifold, and NOW we will be even more reliable and ontop of the game. Here are some top secret CADS.

OH MY GOD!!! Much love for Dezod! It's a good thing you guys are doing what you're doing....DOMINATING the 7th gen forced induction corner of the market! You guys will definately have my money when I get it.
Hey does that design allow for an external wastegate?

The divided inlet? A bit more division of exhaust and intake pulses creating a tad more torque extraction. In essence, the manifold will be a 4-2-1 with the divided inlet. Honda's need all the TQ they can get.
Yes, these are prelim drawings.

how many different types of turbo manifold does dezod carry i saw another one on the webpage but in a pic u dont sell it....is it by dezod? it looks bigger than all the other manifolds? well is the manifold you have now the best Yes im assuming

This is our existing hand welded manifold that is used on all of our kits, and is the foundation for this cast version if possible.
Well if it is T3 footed and a half sized rad is used, I am sure it can.

Just need to connect 2 d17s together to spool it, haha.
PS Looks like you guys use sch. 80 pipe fittings? If so those things are built for life.

LOL, the title kinda tripped me out for a little bit...i thought dezod was working on a "d17 300 horsepower all-wheel drive civic"
just wishful thinking....
...nonetheless props to dezod

So what is the real pro to going cast? Granted you won't break a weld but cast is more prone to cracking than stainless as far as the material goes.... I assume that the cast manifold will be considerably cheaper...?

Cast is far less prone to cracking versus a weld on a welded mani Andy. I think you're a bit confused.
Re: D17 evolution occuring....witness it 1st hand!
No, I'm not confused. If a welder knows what he's doing, a weld shouldn't crack. But I've known all kinds of people with b series drag cast manifolds that have cracked with time. I've seen cast manifolds crack with my own eyes.

Re: D17 evolution occuring....witness it 1st hand!
It does depend on a lot. I have seen cast manifolds crack and welded tubular manifolds crack. Mostly the welded ones fail because of improper filler material or improper fitment. If you leave a slight gap in the joint and purge weld it, it most likely wont ever fail. It takes a great deal more time to build a manifold like that though. Every application is different and with enough heat cycles anything is bound to fail eventually. The key is to stay away from kinks or hot spots, widely varrying thicknesses in casting walls and keep in mind that everything wants to heat and cool evenly to minimalize uneven stress. You both are right. I'd choose a welded one over a cast one for the sake of easier repair. Welding cast iron is hit or miss sometimes.
