how to remove auto tranny drain bolt?!?

I went to drain my fluid today and saw the bolt with the square in it but the bolt was completely round! I figured it was like the oil drain bolt where you can use a rachet but you can't! How the hell do I get this bolt off because the lower control arm for the front right wheel is in the way so I can't get a socket wrench through. Please help! thanks.

Re: how to remove auto tranny drain bolt?!?

i did this a few days ago... you use just the rachet... like the square part that the socket fits on.. i just switched through a few different sizes and found one that fit.. i use tin foil to keep it of the control arm or whatever it is in front of it...

Re: how to remove auto tranny drain bolt?!?

All u need is a 3/8 ratchet and use that. No need for socket and make sure u use all ure strength cuz its really tight then u will hear a "SNAP" then its loose. Dont worry u didnt break anything lol.....

he's right. i did the same thing. Make sure you press the top button on the adjuster before you put it in. Sometimes it won't go unless you do.
