exhaust leak @ turbo mani/block. help!
ok guys. well as some of you might know i finished off the headgasket and i replaced all the gaskets with honda OEM ones. now with the honda oem gasket i get a hugeeeeeeee exhaust leak between the turbo mani and the block. mind you the oem honda gasket is VERY THIN. i did not have this leak before with the thicker ebay header gasket
. anything i can do about this? i been calling most the local shops and they have no idea where to get them from and they said they cant sell me just the aftermarket gasket alone?
... my friends told me i could make my own gasket with some type of kit i can get at autozone. it might just be me but it also looks like the turbo mani flange is not flat, like its warped a bit, maybe il get it machined flat.
thanks for any help guys

well, first, the flange is supposed to be flat. that could be your leak issue. they make a gasket material. comes in a roll. different thicknesses. ive used it many times. works great. but i would deal with the warpage issue first. lay it on a belt sander and flatten it? who knows.

Well, off the bat, I'm not boosted, so I couldnt even begin to offer suggestions without seeing it, as probably for a lot of the other members who even are boosted. So, could you post a pic?

nothing. i drove my car open block with no mani down to the machine shop then worked on my car in front of the shop. LOL. i had flames spittin out the block, pretty cool. lol well they said they couldnt mill it with the fancy machine so they did the belt sander technique. worked quite well i might add. for only 25 bucks the surface is flat and looks nice and new
. got a new honda OEM gasket and copper gasketed the entire thing. works like a charm runs great! feels like a whole new car. thx for the help guys

What gasket did you order?? I just ordered a Nippon gasket from Honda. Should be here in a couple days.
Also, did you use the permatex copper gasket maker ?? Let me know how it handles up against the heat.
