Hey guys,
Not sure where this would go, considering my question is specific to 7thGen models... Have any of you who live in snowy areas had problems keeping traction on small inclines? If so, what do you do to mitigate this?
When I had my car back home in MA, I would have a difficult time getting up my driveway (which has a very mild incline - no greater than 25 degree slope). I'm guessing it's because the car is too light?
I plan on going up to Mammoth soon, and was wondering if any of you guys done it before? I heard the incline is real steep. Do you think I need to get chains and put more weight in my car? Thanks

just get chains and drive safe.
I used to drive my civic two years ago when it snowed A LOT at big bear.
I still go there but I'm riding an altima and it hasnt been snowing as much.
incline to mammoth is the opposite, no windy roads and its very gradual.
oh and if you dont have chains and theres some snow on the road, just try not to loose momentum while driving cause once you stop then yeah its hard to get it back and your tires just keep spinning.

Thanks guys,
I ended up going to Big Bear/Summit today (in a friend's accord), and yeah, it doesn't seem like it would be THAT bad. I'll probably just invest in some chains and look for that sticky. Thanks again

So the day is fast approaching, and after last nights light rains (and my cars inability to grip in first gear) I feel like i need new tire's. I know any 'performance'-type tires won't be as good as snow tires, but I don't feel like buying a set of snow tires just for one trip.
So my question is: Do you think you think 'performance'-type tires, e.g., Falken Zien 512, would be better in the snow then the stock tires we have on our cars?
Thanks in advance for the input
Joe
