Vehicle Speed Signal Circuit (VSS) question

I searched previous threads and found that the Vehicle Speed Signal (VSS) wires were found in 2 places:
1.) Behind the glove box next to the ECU/PCM.
2.) Its also on the left of the steering column in the cruise control module.

I am looking for the 3 pin connector to the vehicle speed signal circuit. I am trying to test my VSS to diagnose a problem but cant find it on my 2001 EX 5spd.

A picture of the connector can be found here.

I searched behind the steering column, glove box, and beneath the car around the manual transmission case but couldn't find it.

Thanks in advance,
Oren

Looks like it's under the hood beneath the intake resonator.

Awesome. Thanks.

Its actually near the Manual Transmission Case above the front sway bar. It was a pain to get to.

Manual says for replacement to remove intake resonator then unplug sensor, apparently not as easy as it sounded.

If I may ask, what does the VSS do?

Its used to tell the car how fast your traveling. I had to run checks on mine to see if it went bad. Trying to diagnose why my damn battery light is on.
