That's pretty amazing, but I bet its not going to stay that low for long. The price will probably skyrocket before too long.

Its already ended at just over $13k.
The reserve wasn't met, i wonder how much he wanted?

No point putting it on ebay if you dont want to sell it for a bargain price

I think its very fair that he has a reserve.
He doesnt want to sell it too cheap, its no different to advertising in the newspaper. You will always have the minimum amount you want to get.

I think 15k would have been his reserve.

It can be a good strategy for selling something like that, as you set the minimum to what you would sell it for normally if you used traditional means, and then hope some sucker overbids and makes you some extra money.

No its not good at all.
Since ebay take a % of the cost, you're actually losing money selling a car on ebay.

$13K is an incredible price for a hybrid. That is a nice-looking car too, and being an '03 model, it's fairly new. I wonder why the seller was willing to let it go for such a low price?

He/She was not...it never made it to the reserve price...it had to bidders going at it...and they went from $12.5 to$13.3 max...seller wanted more...though the reserve price cost him.

$13 grand seems like a really good price. What is the regular price on these? The only thing I would worry about is buying it off of e-bay. I've heard of a lot of people getting ripped off when buying cars on there.

Does the seller have to pay a listing fee (a percentage of the price) if the reserve is not met? That's an expensive experiement. But he should have indicated the reserve. That way the buyers stood a chance.

Buying a car on Ebay sounds risky. Why do I get the feeling the warranties and stuff wouldn't still hold?

Most people dont sell cars that are under warranty on ebay.. most cars are older or being sold by dealers, in which case you'd still get the warranty.
