Short throw shifter
Short throw shifter
Oh mannnn.... you guys will probably kill me for even doing this but I have to admit that I've done my search and what I found did not fully sink in because everyone has different opinions. Anyways, I'm looking for a short throw shifter. I'm talking about an S2000 type. During the search that I did before, some of you had your own preferences. This is a mod that I'd like to do, but I'm in no hurry. Would there be any websites available?

Check www.dezod.com for a B&M shifter www.truehonda.com for a revo ss and www.streetlevelperformance for a buddyclub short shifter. I've heard great things about all and the cons are negligible. You can always go neuspeed or dc but those do not replace the whole assembly. Good luck.
I thought Revo was the only full replacement and the others are adapters. So the stick stays the same height but the throws are reduced, unlike the Revo with a lower stick and shorter throws.

The buddyclub is also a full replacement http://robearracing.com/pd_buddyclub...rt_shifter.cfm.
The B&M is not an adapter but uses the factory assembly. I hope this helps.

If you want the revo that $90, Buddyclub $130, and B&M $180. Countless ppl on the site have the revo and love it. Some ppl have broken the shifter search the thread on those but if you don't power shift every shift I think you'll be ok. Get grey's bushings upgrade or capoyads bushings I think its called. Exturbo6 let me drive his car and he has the revo ss gen 2 and it felt great. I also got a chance to drive an ES1 with the B&M shifter and that felt awesome too really short and precise.

It just replaces the OEM I just mentioned the bushings bc that really gives it that stiff feeling with little play you know like when you go side to side in neutral. Do it you won't regret it I promise and its not expensive. That is my next upgrade seriously once I get my car back.

The S2000 is sick I love that gearbox. The shifting is super short in those. But the bushings I'm talking about will give it that stiff feeling like the S2000. If you've ever driven a Scion TC it feels stiff like that but the throws are shorter if that helps.

It matters to me bc I F'ed up my car missing a shift going from 3rd to 2nd at redline when I was trying to go to 4rth racing an rsx. If the short shifter can make my shifts more precise then I think that its a very necessary upgrade.
I want the short shifter because I like it. Doesn't do much for me but I want it. It's funny how when my car is dirty, I don't like it and want to get rid of it. Yet when I wash it, I love it! Specially how much I enjoy working on it. I've never driven a Scion TC, but I'm still hung up on the S2000 shifting. My car is completely stock!, The only thing I left on it was the HP blues for a stock height, but stiff suspension. So about $180 for a B&M shifter? I want a short stick and a short throw. Just to clarify it.
Ok, i'm about to buy the Revo shifter, but where can I get the bushings??? I did a search on the Capyoda bushings and he's out of stock and I clicked Grey's link for the bushings and it doesn't work. Please help.
i use this and have sold it to many of my local customers and they all love it and so do i.. lol.. no complaints here

hey man, sorry to jack ur thread but has anyone with the Revo SS have a problem with stripping the nut that tightens the adjuster (assuming that you have V2)?
It seems like the bolt that tightens the adjusting mechanism is wayy too short with the washer.

The only thing you don't get is shorter height, but the mechanism is incredibly precise, uses the stock housing which is better quality than the Revo and is beautifully machined.
If you have the arm rest on the center console, you don't want a lower stick anyway.

I've had the Revo SS V2 for about 3 years now. I've never had any problems with it, no breaking, no nothing. I'm sure the people who break it jerk the hell out of the shifter. It's all about finess! My only complaint is that there's free play in the shifter when you're in neutral, like it has space to move around. Shouldn't stop you from buying it though, I'd never go back to stock shifter.
I have a Revo w/ both "kits" and it was alright. It was still a little long so I had to have a friend shorten it w/ a welder before I was happy.
So if you can weld or knows someone that can you can make your own shifter by cutting the stock shorter and lowering the bracket on the arm.
