what brand should i use...

hey i got a 2001 civic coupe lx, im putting a center force duel frictrion clutch and a zoom performance flywheel on saturday. i didnt know if any one has any ideas on what would be the best m/t fluid fluid to refill it with,i know it takes 10w 30,i was thinking about useing royal purple, any ideas???

It has been said a few times before so you might want to search a bit this site is great for info, but I use the honda fluid but I might change. Also let us know how the clutch works out. I ended up using the exedy organic.

GM SYNCHRO MESH better than royal purple and just fill it til u cant fill no more haha.. a bunch of my S2k and RX7 Buddies use GM Synchro Mesh on they're manuals and they said you'll notice the biggest difference over anything.. in a good way.. smoother shifts

hm...never heard of using GM fluid in a Honda i guess what ever works.

I'm using Redline right now, moving over to try the Motul synthetic stuff in a week or so. I've been reading on Honda-Tech though (do a search for "synchromesh") and people have been using the GM synchromesh stuff for a while. However there are posts of people saying the Honda MTF has been reformulated and is actually very similar to the GM product.

whoops wrong post lol

but you do realize that honda mostly uses just motor oil. I actually ended up using Mobile 1 Syn 70w? i belive.. and it never felt better in my tranny *before the D17 engine hydrolocked*
