Question about strut brace

Well, I just wanted to know. What's the trade-off when isntalling it? I'm sure a lot of cars dont come stock with them for a reason. I will gain handling but what exactly will I be losing?

it wont really improve handling......... it's a brace.... it just ties 2 things together thats it. It's there to reduce flex but if youre not putting the car on a track, it's kind of useless..... Cars like the 350Z, S2000, possibly older Honda's, BMW's can benefit more b/c they have the strut towers towards the middle of the engine bay while the 7th and 8th gen Civic has the strut towers already attached to the firewall. There arent any negatives and usually $100 doesnt really hurt the wallet so.... up to you.

Same reason our cars don't come with lots of quality stuff.......the key demographic dosn't want/need/or even know it exists, so why put it in when it would only drive up the sticker price of the car.

Trust me get one if you like a car that fells like its built solid/handles better.....get one , I dont think you'll reget it.

An s2000 or a 350z dosn't need stiffening for the body like our cars do...obviosly they still need help when tken right out of the box....but our cars are really sloppy, so tie's and strut bars help out a great deal.

When I put mine on I loved it. When I took it off I hardly noticed it was gone.

actually, I feel most cars could use a bar or 2. But........ it's not just about adding bars. I just dont feel adding a strut bar on a Civic would have as much effect as a 350Z or S2000 being that the Civic's strut towers are already attached to the chassis. Can you define sloppy as well? My brother has Del Sol which does not have a fixed roof..... that is sloppy.

No I'm not saying its about adding bars, its one of the few mods that only cost a little and actually helps our cars, well be better cars.

And as for sloppy I've had my car since it had 2 on the odmeter, and unlike cars like and s2000 when you hit a bump, the whole unibody flexes to take up the bump and you don't feel like the struts even moved......more like the car just twist and bends to acomodate the pothole or bump........your vic might have been built on a good day, and isn't sloppy.......but most of my friends with 7's I could feel torsion through out when turning, driving over speed bumps etc.....
