Question about strut brace
Question about strut brace
Well, I just wanted to know. What's the trade-off when isntalling it? I'm sure a lot of cars dont come stock with them for a reason. I will gain handling but what exactly will I be losing?

it wont really improve handling......... it's a brace.... it just ties 2 things together thats it. It's there to reduce flex but if youre not putting the car on a track, it's kind of useless..... Cars like the 350Z, S2000, possibly older Honda's, BMW's can benefit more b/c they have the strut towers towards the middle of the engine bay while the 7th and 8th gen Civic has the strut towers already attached to the firewall. There arent any negatives and usually $100 doesnt really hurt the wallet so.... up to you.

My brother has Del Sol which does not have a fixed roof..... that is sloppy.
And as for sloppy I've had my car since it had 2 on the odmeter, and unlike cars like and s2000 when you hit a bump, the whole unibody flexes to take up the bump and you don't feel like the struts even moved......more like the car just twist and bends to acomodate the pothole or bump........your vic might have been built on a good day, and isn't sloppy.......but most of my friends with 7's I could feel torsion through out when turning, driving over speed bumps etc.....
