quick lx to ex head swap question

well my buddy is doing my head swap and hes havin some trouble the car turns over but it doesnt stay on do i need to get ex spark plugs?

EX spark plugs? Are you kidding?

What ECU are you using, check the wiring, the cam/crank position and the fuel system.

did you do a proper valve clearence adjustment after installing the new head? did you align both the cam and crank at TDC before putting the timing belt back on? is there any slack in the timing belt?

yeah check timing belt and the sensor on the side with the cam gear just below the cam gear. Did it ever start?

i bet this is a timing issue. LOL @ ex spark plugs.

well its still not runnin he told me it turned on for like 3 seconds n died n it was smokin for some reason but he said the smoke was from the old oil...soo sad its been 3 weeks without a car this foos mad laggin it.. =*(

reset your ECU, tell him to adjust the valves, cam, timing belt, etc.. then try again. oh yeah if you swapped ECU's did you have your keys reflashed?

thanx guys but i gott another questionwhat should the valve clearance be how much clearance on the intake and then exaust? thanks a bunch haha

im usin the vafc2 hes installing ex head crower stage 1 cam aem cam gear got everything for pretty cheap but this install is takin forever its real saddening i read it only took like 4 hours but mine is takin almost 3 weeks lol dammit

it says on the cam guide that you got with the cam. .06 and .08 I forgot which is which but i think .06 is exhaust and .08 is intake. Also if he didn't adjust them he probably bent a valve when it turned over. Good luck

Ok the intake is .006 and the exhaust is .008 that is a 100% for sure
